Youth Fitness
Youth Express Circuit
The West Side Family YMCA offers a special Youth Express Circuit room that allows youth (ages 7-13) to participate in a 1 hour workout that includes cardio, strength training and flexibility! Tennis shoes and workout clothes required. Child must have youth membership or be on family membership to participate. Parent must sign child into program and remain in building. This is not a drop off program but a program for your child to participate in while you workout.

Monday-Thursday 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Active Older Adults
The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program
Offered in partnership with Humana Health. The classes offer strength and conditioning exercises easy on joints and appropriate for those who exercise regularly as well as those new to exercise or who may not have exercised in years.
Personal Training
The West Side Family YMCA offers personal training services to individuals interested in one-on-one workout sessions. All of our trainers are certified and experienced to help you reach your fitness goals. The cost for personal training is $420 for 12 sessions or $210 for 6 sessions. Class Description
Aqua Aerobics
Burn calories and tone your muscles in our refreshing pool. This class is easy on your joints but also a cardio workout. (1 hour)
BootCamp
A cardio/weight class designed to keep your heart rate up while toning your body. The class incorporates band, dumbbells, the step, gliding discs, etc. High impact and low impact exercises are used. (45 min)
Butts/Guts n Guns
A great combination of glutes, abs, and upper body work to strengthen and tone your favorite spots. (45 min)
Circuit
This class meets in the Circuit Room. You will get a great total body workout. This is a great way to cross-train for any event. (45 min)
Pilates Flow
A mix of pilates and yoga designed to increase flexibility, balance and core strength. (1 hour)
Just Weights
No frills, no fuss, straight-up strength with barbells, bands, dumbells and a bench. Throw in some abs and you’ve got an awesome power-packed class. (45 min)
Pilates
A core training class appropriate for all fitness levels. This is a mat class that strengthens the powerhouse and improves flexibility. This class is a perfect cross-training workout. (45 min – 1 hour)
Power Yoga
These classes are more vigorous and at a faster pace. More intense and challenging poses with a warm up of Sun Salutations A ad B combined with jump-backs and jump-forwards will take your practice to the next level. Strength-building standing poses are combined in creative flow sequences. Deeper backbends, more complex balancing poses, and inversions are practiced. A good yoga foundation in the basics is encouraged. (75 min)
Senior “Slo-Mo” Spin
Spin class designed for our Active Older Adults. Great instruction on bike set-up. Class moves at a slower pace for all AOA fitness levels. (30 min)
Spin/Extreme Spin
An instructor leads you on a ride through flats and hills while you control the intensity. This workout is great for all levels. (45 min) Extreme Spin is a 1.5 hour class geared more for the intermediate to advance rider.
Step/Abs Fusion
An intermediate to advanced step class for 45 minutes and then we add some strength training for 30 minutes. (1 hour)
Swim/Bike/Run
Class consists of 20 min. swim, 40 min bike, 30 min run. Great for triathlon training or an overall workout!! (S/B/R) (90 min)
Total Body
This class offers a great mix of cardio and weights while using The Step and weights to tone and sculpt while developing cardiovascular endurance. (45 min)
Ultimate Fit
Fun, out of the box, exercises designed to challenge your total body. Sometimes we use weights, sometimes we don’t. If you are stuck in your workouts this is the class for you! The workouts are designed to be for any level. (45 min)
Yoga
Slow, controlled movements and deep stretches are used to release tension, develop flexibility and strength. (1 hour)
Yoga Boot Camp
This class is designed for healthy students who would like to increase strength and flexibility and burn calories at the same time. Strength moves with light weights will be added into a flowing style class with a focus on the core. (1 hour)
Zumba®/4 Families
A fuse of Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will kick your tail. Step out of your box and try it! Family Zumba allows you to bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, ages 6-12,and have some “family” fun! (1 hour)
Zumba Tone
Take the original Zumba dance-fitness class to the next level utilizing an innovative muscle training protocol and the addition of light weight toning sticks or dumbbells. Created to emphasize muscle work along with rhythms, this combination of cardio and dynamic resistive exercises is an effective use of progressive light weight training to improve overall performance. (30-45 min)
Kettlefit
Each class will consist of movement preparation, a dynamic warm-up, and instruction on how to do the fundamental kettlebell lifts. Our Kettlebell class is built around teaching how to use kettlebells safely and effectively. (45 min)
