Chronic Disease Management Programs
Chronic disease management programs are offered at the Y in Knoxville. As a leader in preventative health care, the YMCA of East Tennessee offers a broad range of research-based programs that target specific health issues. All of our programs are people-centric and are designed to help each individual reach a personal best. YMCA certified instructors are there to guide and support each participant while fostering a community where individuals are open to share with other participants. Our Diabetes Prevention Program helps participants develop skills needed to prevent a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. Move Well Today is an exercise program designed specifically for those managing Type 2 Diabetes. We are currently planning for programs to help improve the quality of life for Parkinson’s patients and for those with early onset dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
