Want to prepare for summer and get Lifeguard certified? Whether it’s to keep your family safe out on the lake this summer or to line up a potential summer job; learning lifeguard skills is always a good idea!
What you will learn:
During this weekend long course you will learn all skills necessary to be an American Red Cross certified Lifeguard. These skills include Lifeguard skills, CPR/AED use, Administering Emergency Oxygen, and First Aid. Once certified you can take your certification anywhere in the USA!
People wanting to participate in the Lifeguard course must be at least 15 years of age and attend our ‘Pretest’ session prior to the class start date. This pretest will determine if the participant has a strong enough swimming ability to perform the duties required of a lifeguard.
-Swim 100 yards doing a freestyle stroke
-Swim 100 yards doing a breast stroke
-Swim 100 yards doing either freestyle or breast stroke
*There is no time limit to complete this swim but participants may not stop for extended periods of time during it.
-Retrieve a 10 pound brick from the deep end of the swimming pool and swim 20 yards with head above water and both hands on the brick in under 1 min and 40 sec.
-Tread water with arms under armpits for 2 minutes keeping head above water.

*You must register and attend a ‘PreTest’ session ($25) before you are able to register for the full lifeguard class ($150). Please call the branch that you desire to take Lifeguard Classes to confirm the pre-test session date.
