The West Side Y Tri is next up in the Grand Prix series, with the West Side Family YMCA in Knoxville the spectator and family-friendly venue on July 8th. This west Knoxville favorite is a great beginner race with a short 200 yard swim, two lap 7 mile ride through the famous West Hills neighborhood, and flat 4k run on the West Hills greenway. Also, the fourth leg of the RDE Grand Prix Sprint series. Overall, age group, and relay awards. Volunteers provided by the West Side Y, with proceeds going to the YMCA’s Annual Campaign.
West Side Y Tri Course
Pool swim, with time trial start–swimmers start one at a time every 5 seconds, with the fastest swimmers starting first. Participants will swim up one lane, down another, up the next and continuing on as they traverse the pool for 200 yards
A two lap course though the West Hills neighborhood offers a surprisingly hilly challenge. Knoxville Police traffic control and excellent volunteer support at every turn!
The run here is relatively flat and mostly shaded along the West Hills Greenway

The West Side Y Tri requires LOTS of volunteers to help direct racers on the course and cheer them on. If you’d like to volunteer, please email Kristal at email@example.com. Volunteers will be needed from 7:15am-10:30am (at the latest). Thanks for giving back!
