YMCA CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
The West Side YMCA has been a vital part of strengthening our community since it was built in 1969. The need for programs that improve health, fight disease, support youth development, and help our neighbors in need is at an all-time high. More specifically, the need for renovation and space in our most popular Y is multiplied by the elimination of aquatic resources in our community. We are partnering with Tennessee Aquatics to offer the best programs serving every level of need in our community in a world-class facility.
The West Side Y is stretched to the limits and currently inefficient. Our plan is to double the size of the Y by building a new indoor aquatic center on the current outdoor pool site, renovate and reorganize the current building, and add much-needed parking. This will continue our life-changing impact in our community for another 50 years.
The YMCA will build a new Aquatic and Wellness Facility with two swimming pools (20 total lanes and 2 temperatures), locker rooms and wellness space on the site of the outdoor pool. The current building will:
- transform the current indoor pool into needed program space
- add brand new 3,000 square foot child watch center and playground
- add 85+ parking spots and driveway connection to the lower lot
- renovate mechanical systems
- update other program space
- and address other needs in the Y
The following are preliminary drawings to help set the vision. As we continue to raise funds and gain input from Y members and the community we serve, these drawings are subject to change.
All of these goals are based on the success of this campaign. Please help us make this vision a reality so that we can continue to change lives in our community.
