The Board of Directors of the YMCA of East Tennessee is pleased to announce Matt Ryerson has been named the new CEO of the organization.  Jim Dickerson, chair of the YMCA CEO Transition Committee, said Ryerson will begin with the YMCA on January 1.
“We are very excited to have Matt as the new leader of our great YMCA,” stated Dickerson.  “We conducted an extensive, national search process and chose Matt for his proven success in strategic leadership, community engagement, and fundraising.”
For the past 5 years Ryerson has been the CEO of the United Way of Greater Knoxville. He has 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including some time with the YMCA early in his career.
Ryerson follows Jim Dickson who has been the YMCA CEO for the past 24 years.  Under his leadership the YMCA has grown to serve 40,000 members and 34,000 program participants.  The Y has 5 facilities, 19 childcare centers, 700 staff, and a $19M annual budget.
