SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM – HEALTHY HAPPENS HERE

The Y feeds kids! In an effort to help stop hunger in East Tennessee, we are excited to partner with No Kid Hungry.  Over the summer, the Y will provide 7 breakfast and 7 lunch meals each week to ensure children in rural East Tennessee communities have access to healthy meals and snacks.

Pick Up a FREE 7-Day Meal Pack!

7 breakfasts. 7 lunches. Weekly pickup of free Grab N Go meals. All children 18 and under are eligible.  Parents may pick up a meal pack on behalf of their child.  Please bring your child with you at pickup if possible!

One-time Pre-Registration is Requested

Please pre-register so we know how many meals to prepare.  Pre-register in one of the following ways:

Volunteers Needed!

Over the summer, we will provide 7 breakfast and 7 lunch meals each week to families in rural communities, for a total of 160,000 meals or more! WOW! We will pack meals every Monday and Tuesday and load trucks for delivery every Wednesday and Thursday. Each week, we will need to pack over 2500 meals and load a truck.

  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
  • All volunteers will be required to complete a short volunteer training upon arrival, which will include watching a 25-minute training video to comply with food program regulations.
  • Volunteer meal packing and truck loading will take place at Hillcrest Healthcare at Beverly Park Place, 5321 Beverly Park Circle, Knoxville, TN 37918.  Volunteers will park in Parking Lot D.
