Our nationally certified trainers will coach, motivate and inspire you to reach your personal goals, and achieve the results you want for your body and your life.

Your body deserves a unique fitness regime tailored to you. Personal training provides the support you need to reach your wellness goals, train for an event or achieve optimal health. About our personal trainers

Our certified personal trainers use their knowledge of health, methods of sound exercise principles and state-of-the-art equipment to guide you to your fitness goals. Based on your health and individual needs, our personal trainers will customize and implement a program to fit your goals.

For example, Personal Trainers at the Y have one or more of the following:

  • NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
  • NCCA Accredited Certification
  • ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine)
  • ACE (American Council on Exercise)
  • Degree in exercise science or related field

Aquatic Personal Training

At The Y in Knoxville, we know that it can be difficult to get started on a stronger, healthier you. That’s why we’re here to support you, and help you get the guidance and motivation you need.

Our water fitness professionals are certified and can help you gain greater strength, range of motion, flexibility, muscle tone and increased cardiovascular health. Sessions are held in one of our heated pools.

Aquatic personal training has many benefits, such as:

  • Pushing yourself out of a plateau
  • Recover from injury without losing strength and stamina
  • Increased muscle strength, posture and balance
  • Greater mobility and flexibility in joints
  • Eases stiffness in joints and relaxes sore muscles
  • Enhances mood and sleep quality
  • Depending on intensity level, you can burn up to 400-600 calories per hour

The Knoxville YMCA offers a variety of personal and group training options to fit everyone’s unique fitness needs and lifestyles. Personal training is available to members only.

One-On-One Personal Training

Work one-on-one with a dedicated personal trainer to reach your fitness goals. Sessions typically last one hour.

Individual Personal Training
1 Session: $45
3 Sessions: $130

Partner Personal Training (Buddy Packs)
1 Session: $50 ($25 per person)
6 Sessions: $275 ($137.50 per person)

Small Group Personal Training (3–6 people)
8 Sessions: $120 per person
12 Sessions: $180 per person

Individual, partner and group training packages are good for 6 months from date of purchase. Your Trainer will setup your sessions with you to best suit your schedule. Small group training may not be available at every Knoxville Y location.
