Trip Overview:

Start in the Portuguese Riviera, with mansions scattered about Cascais and Monte Estoril.  Next, embark on a Lisbon city tour, before traveling to Belem to see the iconic Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.  Step in to a 16th-century monastery, walk the narrow cobblestone streets with seaside cafes and hand-woven lace.  In Obidos, white-washed houses sit snug within the medieval citywalls.  Next, head to Sintra, where you’ll experience a breathtaking hub that served as the summer residence of Portuguese kings for six centuries.  In Arraiolos, Portugal’s charming countryside, you’ll see the “village of rugs,” visit a family-owned cork factory, and explore the mysterious 16th-century Chapel of Bones.  Next up, you’ll visit the stunning coasts of Algarve and indulge in full-bodied wines from the Alentejo region.  The historic resort town of Lagos with its Moorish and Renaissance influences meet towering seaside cliffs.  En route to Lisbon, make a stop in Azeitao, a charming agricultural village known for red wine, olive trees, and beautiful country estates.
