Leaders Club is a national program of the YMCA, which provides club members with opportunities for leadership training, personal growth, service to others and social development.
We believe in cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. We do this through our Teen Leaders Club; which is a volunteer program for teens ages 12-18 years old who want to volunteer within the Y and give back to their community.
Be a part of something big. The Y’s Leaders Club goes back a long way. The first Leaders’ Corp of young people was organized by Dr. J. Garner Smith at the New York City YMCA in 1885. In 1922 the “Original Leader’s School” was conducted at Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. From its inception, the objective of the school has been to supplement the work of the local Y associations in inspiring and training lay leaders in the programs of the YMCA.
