July’s Topic: Redefining Stroke Prevention presented by Kim Parsons, RN & Angela Toole, RN

Stroke is the leading cause of long term disability and the 5th leading cause of death in the US. But many of the risk factors associated with this serious disease are modifiable. Come learn intervention strategies aimed at reducing your risk factors for stroke. Early identification and modification of risk factors is imperative so join us and take charge of your health!

Kimberly Parsons, RN, providing competent and compassionate care to patients for 23 years. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Stroke Life Support. Her background is Emergency Nursing with an emphasis on cardiac care. During her tenure as nurse, she has served in nursing leadership roles such as a nursing director of cardiac stepdown and nursing supervision. Currently, she is the Stroke Coordinator at Turkey Creek Medical Center. Kim is a native of South Carolina. She is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren who are the joys of her life.

Angela Toole RN, is a Neurovascular Registered Nurse, Board Certified by the Association of Neurovascular Clinicians with over 20 years of experience working with Stroke patients. Angela has been the Stroke Coordinator since 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center, a Primary Stroke Center accredited by The Joint Commission, and is committed to improving patients outcomes by adhering to the latest guidelines for Stroke Care.
